Is there anything more stressful than moving? Especially when you are moving from one apartment to the next. But life doesn’t cease when your searching for a new apartment home. Your job and your family will still need tending too. So its very important to be extremely organized so you will know exactly what you will need in order to get things moving in the right direction. Don’t wait until the last second to begin the process. The more thought and planning you put into it, the better it will be for you.

Most people and that is you, should begin searching for their apartment home 1 to 2 months out. As you will find out, there is much that goes into finding the perfect apartment home. So you will want to give yourself enough time to find and secure the perfect one for yourself.

First Week: You will first want to decide what you need when it comes down to your apartment home. How far should it be from work or from school? Do you have any pets? Apartment have different rules when it comes the this latter topic.

Week Two: Here is where you will want to narrow down the areas you are open to choosing. Make sure you research the areas and neighborhoods. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a place your not comfortable.

Week 3 and 4: Find the rental properties in the area you are interested in. Its time to star touring communities and finding out which units you like the best. Now is a good time to interview landlords as well.

Week 5 and 6: After you have made your selection, its time to start getting ready for your move. Who will help you move all of your belongings? Walk through your old apartment home with your landlord so you can receive your a refund of your security deposit.

Plan in advance. You don’t want a gap in space between your old lease and your new one. Moving is a hassle, but done the right way, it can run more smoothly.
